The musical stylings of punk/pop/rock band kMw may fall left of center, but guarantee to leave the listener wanting more! Addressing typical issues with atypical candor, this talented band is ready to take the world by storm with their infectious music and quirky charisma.
In the four years since its formation by talented siblings Katie McKenna (22) and Willy McKenna (20), kMw has released two successful EPs of original material internationally, signed an endorsement deal with Daisy Rock Guitars, been featured as a talented, up & coming band by Skratch Magazine , Vents Magazine, RiverfrontRadio, NumberOneMusic, The Music Industry News Network, and Ultimate-Guitar.Com, played several shows in association with Big Time Entertainment and Afton Entertainment, played with Warped Tour alum Vanna and Disney sensation AllStar Weekend, and built a devoutly loyal following internationally through frequent performances and an increased online presence!
As the members of kMw – Katie McKenna, Willy McKenna, and Alex Bolano– grow, so does their music. While honing their talents and tastes through continuous rehearsals and live performances, kMw has added a punk/pop edge and Southern Rock flair to their already infectious and uniquely-them song style, making their music an unstoppable force! The word is spreading about this talented group of musicians with an energetic, undeniable stage show, which means kMw is consistently the highest-grossing act in their shows at venues like Fubar in St. Louis, MO and holds the record for St. Louis Hot Topic locations as the local band to sell the most merchandise at an in-store performance!
kMw’s passion for music, tenacious focus and enduring work ethic combine to create a dynamic band pushed not by a want to be ‘rich and famous,’ but rather an unmatched passion for self-expression through their music, which drives them to consistently improve and outshine their previous endeavors!
In early 2011, kMw signed with Randy Scott for the managerial firm Black Mountain Productions, a company whose professionals have worked with artists including Madonna, U2, Paramore, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
kMw is currently finishing their first full studio album, which they will be releasing in late 2011/early 2012 and are currently represented by Randy Scott for BMP and Karen Lynne for Karen Lynne Talent Management.
